Braille Reading Day 2026 Celebrated at ChildVision

Braille Reading Day 2026 Celebrated at ChildVision

ChildVision was delighted to host a vibrant and inspiring Braille Reading Day 2026 on Monday, 11th May in our Conference Hall, welcoming visitors, students, families and friends for a day dedicated to celebrating braille literacy and accessible reading.

The event featured a full programme of engaging activities throughout the day, giving attendees the flexibility to drop in at a time that suited them. From start to finish, there was a wonderful sense of energy and curiosity, with participants of all ages getting involved in the sessions on offer.

We were especially honoured to welcome our VIP guests, Róisín Dermody and Alan Nolan, whose presence added a special dimension to the day. Their contributions helped highlight the importance of storytelling, creativity, and inclusive access to literature for all.

In the Conference Hall, a series of presentations provided valuable insights into braille, literacy, and learning, while our Library was transformed into a hub of activity. Open throughout the day, the Library hosted interactive sensory storytelling sessions, inviting participants to explore stories in new and engaging ways. These sessions proved particularly popular, offering a hands-on and immersive experience that brought stories to life.
Throughout the event, it was inspiring to see so many people connecting, learning, and celebrating the role of braille in opening up a world of reading and communication. The enthusiasm and participation from everyone who attended made the day a great success.

ChildVision would like to extend a sincere thank you to all who joined us, contributed to the programme, and helped create such a positive and inclusive atmosphere. We look forward to continuing to promote braille literacy and to welcoming you again at future events.
