We’re not expecting you to run marathons for us! – You can jog as much or as little as you like in this challenge – all at your own pace or ability. You can complete this challenge as intensely or chilled out as you like.We suggest you give yourself a weekly/daily goal to hit about 20k a week (3K ish a day) to keep up your momentum right until the end of the month.

When you sign up you will be asked to join our closed Facebook Group where you and all your co-fundraisers can meet, chat together and share photos and milestones while you complete your Jogs Through June. The encouragement and support of this group will help you stay motivated to jog your way through the month.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the challenge?

The challenge is to jog or walk the distance of 100 kilometres throughout the month of June while fundraising for ChildVision – Ireland’s only dedicated education centre for Blind Children.

Do I have to jog the challenge?

While it’s called Jog through June we are happy for you to walk, jog or run the 100km. This is your decision. If you’re worried about not being able to run it all why don’t you start walking and build your way up to running. This is a personal challenge and we just want you to do what feels right for you!

How do I keep track of how many km’s I do?

You can use the personal tracker in the leaflet which comes in your fundraising pack, just write down how many km’s you do at the end of each day. Don’t forget to post in the Facebook Group too and let us know how you’re doing!

There are apps like Strava and Map my Run which can tell you your distance of each walk/run. You can also use your smart watch if you have one.

How do I prove that I have completed 100km?

As part of this challenge, you will be asked to set up a ’Jog through June’ Facebook Fundraising Page for ChildVision, where you can post your distances weekly or after every run depending on preference. These pages are linked to ChildVision and we’ll be able to see your progress.

How do I set up a Jog through June Facebook Fundraiser?

Visit *insert givepanel link* and wait for the pop-up to set up a page.

Can I do it in a different month?

We suggest starting on June 1st and continuing throughout the month but if the timing doesn’t suit you then feel free to pick a time that does.

How do I register for my Fundraising pack?

You can register for your pack here: insert givepanel link

What is in the fundraising pack?

You will receive a ChildVision T-Shirt and a leaflet which will include a tracker for you to keep track of your km’s.

My friend who is not on Facebook would like to donate. How can they do this?

If someone not on Facebook wants to donate, they should still be able to do so. Share the direct link of your fundraiser with them and they can enter their details. Alternatively there are two other options for them to support your fundraiser.

  1. They can give you the cash or transfer you the funds (via Revolut, PayPalMe, Online Banking etc) and you can add the donation to your fundraiser yourself.
  2. They can donate directly to ChildVision here: Donate to Childvision. If they do this, please ask them to put your name and ‘Jog through June’ in the message box so funds can be allocated correctly.

Can I take part in this challenge with my colleagues or as a group?

You can absolutely complete this challenge as an organisation or work group. In fact, it is a great team bonding exercise and lots of healthy, competitive fun. Together with your colleagues, you can join our community to complete Jog through June. It’s simple to do and you’ll be amazed at how many people will support you.
