The land at ChildVision has been purchased following a comprehensive tender process. Castlethorn Developments were the successful bidders and concluded their deal with the Rosminian Fathers in April 2015.

ChildVision have signed a 35-year lease with the new landowners, thereby continuing the unique and historic purpose of the site since the 1850’s, namely providing care and education for the blind community of Ireland.

Following a dialogue with ChildVision and a public meeting with neighbouring residents, Stephen Little Planning Associates prepared the application on behalf of CTN Developments and lodged it with Dublin City Council on the 12th of June 2015.  The intent is to build 166 residential units, 125 houses, 41 apartments, a crèche with outdoor play area, a playground and public park, and provision of 288 surface car parking spaces.
